Our Story

Our story started with a mission to raise awareness of the everyday problems facing honeybees in their bid to survive, as well as highlighting and elevating the many varied and precious products that can be harvested from our great British bees.

We move colonies in line with the seasons, carefully considering time frames of budding flora to ensure there is always an abundance of nectar and pollen for our colonies to thrive. Working with slow farming practices is paramount when sourcing our bee sites. With apiaries in a variety of locations, we have a specific set of rules when finding sites to ensure our slow beekeeping practices not only produce the highest quality honey but the welfare of the bees and the crops on which they forage are carefully protected as well.

Our mission & Principles

Mission

Our mission is a dedication to the production of extraordinary British honey and British honeybee related products, a passion for our pursuit of the craft of beekeeping, and a commitment to Beekeeping education - its traditions and methods.

Purpose

Our purpose is to manage our bees sustainably – this means we only take any surplus honey and ensure the bees have enough food for winter. What we harvest provides a range of glorious honey and honey related products, and our bees ensure there is a pollination resource available to enable fruits and crops to be produced as well as flowers, trees and shrubs to reproduce.

Principles

  • Sustainability is key to all we do.

  • We aim to make sufficient profit from our business to sustain our continued development and to support our mission and purpose.

  • We take all we’ve learned and keep evolving our beekeeping knowledge by constantly observing.  Our bees are our tutors.

  • But we try our best to be a force for good.

  • We apply these principles with everyone as the best route to securing loyalty and trust.
