Borage Honey

£7.00

Our Borage honey is delicious and distinctive. It is beautifully light in colour in colour - a crystal clear honey with a distinctively subtle taste that some describe as almost malty and similar to digestive biscuits. This honey is brought to us by bees foraging on fields of the blue star shaped flowers of Borage.

Borage is an annual herb and its flowers produce copious amounts of nectar which is used by honeybees to make our light and delicate honey. The Romans liked to combine borage tea with wine prior to going into battle, as it was believed to raise the spirits and fortify them for the long fight ahead. Given the busy lifestyles many of us face, perhaps a teaspoon of this in your morning tea or coffee may do wonders to help you face the day ahead.

Borage Honey is always a sensational combination with raw goat’s milk cheeses given its lighter flavour doesn’t overwhelm the curd.
