Our honey bees in February

Straight from the hive to the jar.

Snowdrops provide both a nectar and pollen source for honey bees and native pollinators in late winter and early spring when other flowers are few and far between. They bloom at a time when honey bees are actively ramping up their colony population for spring foraging. Snowdrops, full of golden orange pollen, are a welcome sight for honey bees looking to gather fresh pollen to make into bee bread to feed their developing brood. Can you see the honey bee in this photo? Check out the 2nd photo to see her coming in to land!
